Misconception: "New" nuclear is better than older nuclear power plants
Truth: "new" nuclear has all the same issues. It's expensive. There is nowhere to store the waste. If anything goes wrong, it's a disaster.

This is not an April Fool's joke.

Kentucky is seriously considering a move to nuclear energy that would be dangerous (ie. radioactive waste stored on site) and EXPENSIVE (ie. $10-$20 Billion for each reactor that ratepayers foot the bill for).

We had an AMAZING lobby day last week for the Utility Disconnection Protections bill. We had a dozen lobby meetings and EVERY legislator we talked to was in support. We need to keep up the pressure.

LGE-KU Customers: Your rates are going up this month. Based on the law that governs the PSC in rate cases, if they don't rule in a rate case within 6 months, a utility can go ahead and charge the proposed rate. BE PREPARED. Bills will likely be very high this month
LG&E and KU raise electricity rates in January
