Let’s pretend I wrote something clever here.
Progress on varsity letter sweater. I’m not doing intarsia in the round correctly- I’m purling the white 🧶 and then using a needle to pass back through each stitch on the row above to get both raised texture & move yarn back into correct position. Will also duplicate #knit gold outline.

Current wips for #showmeyourknits.
1) Deckle Edge Socks by @abeeinthebonnet.bsky.social 🧶Knitpicks Stroll. One skein of Prairie Heather not enough even with shorter leg, so toes will be white 😂
2) Nocturnal Jumper by Saskie & Co., almost done!
3) University of Denver sweater, details in alt

Last year I was gifted 4 balls of white wool but never really loved any of the patterns I tried with it. Now it’s getting frogged to become part of a Nocturnal Jumper by Saskie & Co.
Copying the charcoal, black & white color combo used by savskii.knits on TikTok.

Almost finished…
My Frøya sweater has been languishing. Just need to bind off- which I am hoping to accomplish today. Delayed by a meningitis scare last weekend and then allergic reaction to treatment. Moving slow, but moving…

#caturday update on the newest stray-
it still won’t let me pet it, but it comes daily for food and this morning ate treats from my hand. Trying to patiently build up trust and not scare it off.

For now I’m calling it Zappa.

Can we talk needles?
Inspired by Debbie T’s post on circulars which I’ve reposted.

I taught myself to knit when I was 9, but spent most of my time crocheting until I got my first set of bamboo interchangeables (clear case) two years ago. Completely resurrected my love of knitting.

How do you store yours?
I’m so glad I rarely use circulars!
Also, I’m tidy, I couldn’t stand the mess of these
The few circulars I do have are wound up in their original boxes

Cat tales…
The cat formerly known as Sylvester is now called Bowie. He declared me his person and moved in.

About a month ago, a cat shaped cloud of smoke appeared at the edge of our yard. Saturday he came to the back door, desperate for food. Here we go again… 🤗

Despite my earlier complaints, I love them. Fit is perfect.
Now, what else to make with my gifted handspun Finnish yarn?🧶

Two projects cast on this week.
Frøya sweater by Ingrid Dyb and Belyse mitts by Ysolda Teague.

The brown yarn in the mitts was a gift my daughters brought me from Finland, handspun 50% wool, 50% alpaca, 100% sourced from Finland. 🧶 🥰

🏆 Whew!
🧶🐔That was a nail biter.
I was using scrap yarn and knew it would be close but I wasn’t expecting it to come down to a couple feet…

Getting quite dramatic- any wagers?
I’m almost halfway through the toes, holding my breath. There is a tiny scrap reserved to seam the toes closed if I make it that far.

Happy #WIPWednesday

I’m working on a very modified Twist Loop Top by Other Loops in KFO cotton merino, color Mole. It will probably be a bit cropped because I don’t want to buy more 🧶
Since I have a road trip next week, I also started the Autumn Leaves Linier Top by Cloud Forest Studio, 🆓 pattern.

Latest socks. Using up yarn from stash, I had the 2x2 cuffs done when the latest Golden Honey Sock Club pattern dropped so I decided to adopt them for this design. Last pair I’m making specifically for my daughter to wear while on her trip.

More socks for my daughter-
🧶 Kelbourne Woolens Perennial in natural. Still have more than half of the 100g hank remaining for another pair.
Pattern is Rosmarino, free from Hobbii.

I have about half an inch of length left on the Twist Loop Top, and then it’s time for the next project.

#wipwednesday is Twist Loop Top by Other Loops in Knitting for Olive Pure Silk, color Powder. Making the top for my daughter to wear at a conference in Helsinki in June. Modified arm ribbing to be more bra friendly.

Project fail… Solene cardigan. I gauge swatched, but the size seemed off so I blocked before working on arms. Glad I did because it grew more than 6” in length and the arm holes were way too big. Should I try again with smaller needles. 🧶 is Yarnique Merino Wool.

This started as a tank top, but I had extra yarn so I added sleeves and turned it into a tee, free tank top pattern is from knitcroaddict.com
🧶 Queensland Eco-twist in frosted linen
I love the texture but it does split and for being a light color it released a lot of dye into the water.

Socks are done, and the thicker cotton/acrylic yarn reminds me of early 90’s slouch socks. The color break is at a weird spot but that’s as far as I could get with the yarn I had on hand. The color shift is hidden by the strap on these slightly too wide shoes, which was a fun discovery.
