Put my trail cam out in the garden to capture the visiting hedgehogs and got a bonus fox. They've been in the garden before to drink from our little pond #wildlife #gardens #rdgUK #foxes

We’re 100 today.

On 17 March 1926, the University of Reading was granted its Royal Charter.

Now, we wake up 100 years later as a global university, shaped by generations of students, staff, alumni and partners who have built something extraordinary together.

Happy 100th anniversary to us. #UoR100

@thebotanist.bsky.social have I found some emerging bee orchids? They are an area where I've seen them before. They are in danger of mowing so an ID from an expert may help me convince owners to protect them

The geese on the lake were more sure footed than I was on my bike today. Black ice on campus caught me out. Bruises to shin, knee, a sore hand/wrist and a broken mirror. Luckily it had gone for the homeward journey #cycling #birds #rdguk

The cold weather has meant lots of visitors to my bird feeder. Hopefully I've outwitted the squirrel for now. I've had a male and female woodpecker scoffing the sunflower seeds #birds #RdgUK

#OpenData research data loss funnel #SeanHill #OAI14 - for every 100 datasets generated, only 1 is shared + FAIR + Cited. Only 1% of research data reaches this gold standard. The investment in generating the data is lost. Delays opportunities/potential/discovery. Why is it lost?
