At this point I’m sure I’ve racked up thousands if not tens of thousands of comments over the past 18 months telling me that Canadians are mean.

This is the pattern I’ve been seeing.

I’ve been loving that @thebulwark.com & @crooked.com are finally covering Canada more seriously. But I do wish they had a Canadian “correspondent” to explain things from our side of the border. I have yet to see them talk about the US influencing Alberta separation.

In 15 hours the CBC language learning app was downloaded so many times it jumped from 59th to 2nd on the educational chart.

Trump has gravely miscalculated what happens when you threaten a country’s culture.

I really hope this week when the American pods start covering why Canada walked from trade negotiations they include this massive point - the US wanted to dictate our use of French.

Trade talks have failed.

“At midnight tonight, the U.S. intends to impose a 50% tariff on roughly $28 billion of Canadian goods. Canada will match those tariffs dollar for dollar to protect our workers and businesses.”

It’s time for another coffee chat… about the time I started a Facebook page to stop being impersonated and it tried to convince me to be alt-right. Ironically I filmed this before the reports this week that the US is using influencers to spread separatist propaganda.

@jvl.bsky.social @sarahlongwell25.bsky.social @timmiller.bsky.social Any plans to cover the fact that Canadians are trying to eject the US Ambassador? Or that this week a study by 2 universities found Russia & the US are trying to break up Canada with covert and overt disinformation campaigns?
August 20, 2026 at 4:33 PM
With the news about proof of the US & Russia being involved in Alberta separation it’s worth revisiting a piece I wrote in May. So much has happened and I fear the world doesn’t understand the level of threat Canadians have been under.

I still can’t get over that Netflix made a show about the Humboldt bus crash but set it in America and gave it an uplifting ending. When it was filming in Vancouver they didn’t even tell the crew the plot or give it a name. And the name? The Sticks. Like the ones people left on their porches.

I wasn’t raised on Save the Whales bumperstickers and the Body Shop t-shirts warning us of animal extinction to watch the world burn because of greedy billionaires, an unchecked fossil fuel industry, and rampant AI obsession.
