The oil sands is on Crown land. Even thought the rights to the minerals were passed to the province, all agreements and contracts become null and void, IF alberta ceases to exist as a province of Canada.

A cynical part of me thinks the only reason these ghouls are pushing the “AI could be conscious rhetoric” is because when it comes to deciding whether humans or data centers should get access to limited energy and water resources, they want ambiguity about why humans should clearly take precedent.
