The reason young people vibe with liminal horror is that the wealthy have spent the last half century destroying all anthropological spaces they can exist in, leaving *only* non-places

Some folks will claim that this is hyperbolic, but what I wish people would understand is that tech initiatives like this serve as a means of eroding consent and lower the barrier for the persistent capture of people’s image, voice, data, or whatever else a gadget can glean.

I cannot even think of a condition, besides someone's life being threatened, when this would ever be under consideration.

four years later and I still think this is the best nonfiction piece I've ever written.

I talked about the racial climate in America (largely New Orleans) that led to a Black vet going to war against the NOPD.

Research required: 6 books, a plethora of 60s and 70s reporting, and a documentary.
When I think of Luigi Mangione, I think of how in '70s NOLA, a Black man went on shooting spree against the NOPD... & people cheered him on.

The shooter was Mark Essex.

Two years later, and I still think this story is one of the best things I've written.

The list of things happening right now that were up until even very recently described as social media derangement is pretty long so I feel like we can drop this retort.
There is not a bipartisan consensus to criminalize transgender existence. This is social media derangement. And frankly I don't believe you believe this to be true because if you did you wouldn't trivialize the dangers posed by Republicans by saying "welp both sides will get you the same outcomes"
it's the height of shitlib to call trans people privileged as a bipartisan consensus is forming to criminalize their existence

Yall are exhausting with these takes tbh

What's going to happen it what happens every single fucking time a marginalized group is under attack

The threat is downplayed because its "only a few extremists" and then suddenly out of 'nowhere' comes some wild ass policy that everyone was warned about

Jon Husted’s staffer took part in “Nazi military exercises” & had a “Tales from Rhodesia” Spotify playlist.

The fact that significant swathes of the media ignore the multiple major Republican campaign staffers outed as Neo-Nazis (to focus on Hasan Piker instead) is journalistic malpractice.
