Finally watched Nicolas Winding Refn’s HER PRIVATE HELL. It was beautiful, confounding, sexy, disturbing. A post neo noir retro sci fi slasher with immaculate costuming & sets. Gorgeous cast portrayed like Refn action figures in his room. Banger Pino Donaggio score. In other words, LOVED IT.

It’s time to dig out my School of Seven Bells cd’s.
I would be fine seeing Anne in all of the movies. She’s the best and crushing it this year. Many have said this already and I have to agree, THE END OF OAK STREET is better than all of the JP sequels (I have a soft spot for 3). Nails the Amblin vibes. Great cast. Well-directed. Very rewatchable.

Long overdue INTERSTELLAR rewatch was a ride. More emotional than I remembered. Tears aplenty. McConaughey masterclass. Hathaway incredible. Just a great supporting cast. Visually off the charts. A heater from Zimmer. Incredible story. TARS & CASE rule. Absolute banger. Might be my favorite Nolan.

Unbeknownst to me, when I decided to watch THE DARK KNIGHT RISES on a long flight just taken, it was the film’s 14 year anniversary! I was jonesing for more Nolan and Anne Hathaway after watching THE ODYSSEY. Anne owns this movie.
