I taught many classes as a grad student that I did not teach. Bc I was a GRAD student, not an undergrad. And, as is typical (and encouraged), I went to a different institution for grad than undergrad.
The administration and any faculty who didn’t push back should be ashamed.

i did a triple take at this line. the university of michigan apparently jeopardized a grad student's status and got him detained by ICE for almost a month on this basis, which i can only convey to non-academic folks as "absolute horse shit"

The sheer rage I feel today is engulfing. I can’t imagine how Minneapolis and families of those detained feel right now.

I support any Dem calling for the investigation and prosecution of every level of power. ICE is a terrorist organization and every person in power needs to be held accountable.

I’m serving on my first search committee right now and it’s been eye-opening. This might be a surprise to this dude complaining about not getting picked, but our conversations have entirely been about qualifications and fit.

My husband was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer during a routine screening. Without that screening, who knows how his health would be now.
