This weekend marks 75 years since the first zebra crossing appeared on UK streets – something we campaigned for in our early days.

A few of our friends have joined us to wish the zebra crossing a very happy birthday! https://www.livingstreets.org.uk/zebrabirthday

Found a Sports Direct voucher at the back of a drawer, randomly selected winner from an active travel challenge some years ago

Surprised to find it was still valid, turned it into something more practical.

How accessible are the bus stops where you live? Our latest report highlights problems like:

• Not enough space to manoeuvre a wheelchair
• No dropped kerb
• No seating
• No timetables - or timetables that are too small or high up for people to read.

And so "Be Bright, Be Seen" season begins.
I'd make some comment about it being like shooting fish in a barrel except I think shooting fish in a barrel would be more difficult.

A train journey does not begin or end at the station platform. Convenient bike parking and easy access to the railway system are essential elements of a transport network that enables people to travel seamlessly from door-to-door.🧵

There is undoubtedly nuisance and anti-social use of quads, motorbikes and e-motos in the area; which even led to some unauthorised (very short lived) additions to the previous York frame barrier.

The vast majority of York barriers along and accessing the route were removed 18 months ago.

"New planters have been installed along the path to reduce safety risks and slow down unauthorised vehicles, while fully adhering to the Department for Transport's accessibility guidelines."

When I can find the time to visit, I'll make sure to bring a tape measure.

There is no need to cause these problems for the bus services and emergency services (if needed).

Park sensibly away from the immediate area and walk the relatively short distance to the bird.

Britons should use money we haven't got to buy food the country doesn't grow, store it in homes that don't exist, in spare rooms that got taxed away, so we can survive when reservoirs nobody built run dry because of a climate the govt won't protect.
