Hal fixing a lightbulb kind of day. Go to get a fresh bath towel. Damp because the sink is leaking. Go get some tools. Flashlight is really weak. Check with multimeter, <1v. Grab the last 4 AAAs. Put AAAs on the shopping list. Go back to tear apart the faucet. Looks like a crushed o-ring.

The Amtrak Empire Builder from Chicago to Seattle is 5h20m late. Likely due to the forest fires that have been surrounding Spokane where it recently departed. It is the second most delayed train in North America. Award goes to Via Rail for Canadian service to Toronto at 8h20m late.

There's a common type of victim blaming where people like to lecture cyclists about how they need to be hyper aware and on alert, but the reality is that cyclists are *already* hyper aware. We're always on alert because unsafe infrastructure makes it necessary.
