Right,
This fact of built-on-a-foundation-of-(ongoing)-theft has been obvious from the beginning.

Note: means & ends are the same.
“A senior executive at Microsoft said A.I. systems built on the work of others will be seen as ‘an astonishing theft of unprecedented proportions’ and possibly the greatest robbery of labor in human history, according to court documents unredacted Thursday in an ongoing Manhattan lawsuit.”

Another great #BCAF experience this year. Lots of wonderful creators who took the time to share their enthusiasm with my niblet (their word choice) who was dialed to 11 the whole time.
Being the "cool uncle" is a great gig & taking the wee one to their first con was loads of fun.

Sad news. What a great actor.

Tim Curry had so many great roles.

A small bit, yet his part in The Shadow (1994) was one of the best auditions for the Joker in a movie world that never was.

Well, news about Dolly Parton hits a little harder because of everything. The passing of a pretty great person.
May her memory be a blessing.

Sharing for me.

Also, maybe for you too?

Sefaria has been a tremendous resource & the news today is tremendously disheartening.
The annoying "helper" has been frustrating, if easy enough, to ignore.
Now's as good a time as any to remind you that the entire Sefaria corpus is only 26 GB, and you can download it from Google Cloud using github.com/Sefaria/Sefa....

Have not previously backed a project so quickly as I did The Guild movie.
Still took my time to find the tier I could back with the rewards that I will most enjoy (new movie, tpb, blu-ray).

If it is in your wheel house, fan from the beginning or not, take a look:

This.

Know someone who does this with students as an extension of doing it for hospice care workers & patients as a way to "share the patients story".

It robs students of the creative act, of synthesizing the information & expressing the information through their unique lens.
Forcing kids to use "A.i." to make comics is child abuse.

A miserable undertaking that robs kids of the human experience of writing and thinking and drawing and seeing.

A pox on this company and all those like it.

"...worth it?" Am going to go with "no" as the correct answer.

Then again, I am not in the business of pretending there is a bigger problem with something already addressed in the budget to justify closings, other losses, bad mgmt, &/or caring about stock over people.

So, what do I know?

OH MY GOD I GET TO TALK ABOUT MY THESIS

I specifically studied the instance of election fraud within a 1/2 point margin of victory. I'm calling them whisker thin elections.

Fraudulent elections are proportionately less likely to be whisker-thin than other close margins of victory. 1/

Those pushing for ai in art, even if motivated solely by money, do not respect art and even less the artist.
Even so, a lot of them recognize that art has power and in that they resent the artist while wanting to control the art and by extension the message.

It is sad to see the passing of another towering creative in the comics fields.
An important legacy generated through a large and important body of work.
Gerry Conway has passed at 73. He leaves an incredible legacy. Co-creator of Punisher, Power Girl, Firestorm, Killer Croc, Jason Todd, Ms. Marvel.
He also wrote a lot of tv including Law & Order.
Best remembered for The Night Gwen Stacy Died? Probably?
My condolences to his family and friends.

This is not journalism. This is plagiarism with not even half the effort of a panicked morally deficient college kid after their first kegger realizing their first mid-term paper is due that same day.

(Morally deficient because of the plagiarism, not the kegger.)
