The Centre is pleased to announce that it has a studentship opportunity. Available to a student embarking on PhD research in any aspect of the History of Hong Kong, broadly conceived, working in the period pre-dating 1950 (with a preference for the pre-war or pre 1930 period).

It was a great honour to have had Prof. Elizabeth Sinn visit us yesterday. She shared with us her decade-long research on the colorful life of Ho Amei (何崑山), a cousin of Ho Kai and an enterprising figure who climbed the social hierarchy in colonial Hong Kong in the late 19th century.
