250 billionaires in California are worth $2.2 trillion. This is not a hard issue. They will be just as rich if they pay a 5% tax, and poor California kids + 3.5 million working families will get healthcare.

The new owner is travel writer and TV host Rick Steves, who pledged to keep it open and free for people needing hot showers and hot meals.

The people should have to vote on congressional pay raises. (I know, it would be unwieldy. But it would serve them right)
There's a reason why people like me live in poverty, while Congress gives themselves raises. They've designed it that way. They control who gets UBI, them, and who gets no minimum wage increase in over 20 years. 😡🙄
Congress should NOT be allowed to give themselves raises while keeping the rest of us in poverty by not raising minimum wage for over 20 years.
