I have lived in the DC area for almost 20 years, and have often biked & driven on Beach Drive in Rock Creek Park, and TODAY learned that it’s not named after any beach, but for Capt. Lansing H. Beach, an officer in the US Army Corps of Engineers who oversaw road construction in the park around 1900.

30th Street is my favorite among stations in the US.
I probably should have included how elegant the station is. There are intercity platforms below, oriented North-South; the visible commuter platforms above, oriented East-West; and a freight bypass (a high line) to the west of the station.

For purely sentimental/nostalgic reasons, St Pancras. I lived near there in the 80s, when the station and surrounding area were pretty shabby. But getting the train from there to Harlington to visit my then-in-laws felt very glamorous compared to Conrail.

i guess my take on the whole "should we throw trans people under the bus y/n" thing is that in this sort of environment, where the opposition party shot itself repeatedly in the dick and balls by starting an illegal war that made gas cost a million dollars, it shouldn't even be on the table
