Halloween is coming. The streak on the elm tree is from slime-flux, a chronic but not fatal condition that can affect elm trees. This variety is “Discovery”, resistant to Dutch Elm Disease. It does attract Japanese beetles.

Today’s harvest. Pinching the pepper plant tops increased the number of peppers. I need to label them next year. And I narrowed down the tomato types for the suburban garden next year to a cherry and Roma based on yield and disease resistance.

Wow wild turkeys are fast and hard to see in the woods. Saw a flock twice near the house and both times they bolted. In the center of the picture are two (or three?) of the twenty or so.
