There's no such thing as a binding referendum on secession, because secession is not permissible under the constitution.
Premier Danielle Smith says if Albertans favour separation in the October referendum, consultations with First Nations would take about 2.5 months and a second, **binding** referendum on secession could happen early next year.

I was happy to stop by the picket line at YYC and proud to stand with the flight attendants. I was also lucky to be there at the same time as their incredible president, Alia Hussain, and the bargaining committee. They are working hard to get a fair deal!
