People like Kane and many many others that do care about human art and the creative process have been a beacon of hope while trying to navigate making art in this current climate.
CBS MORNINGS ON YOUTUBE (JUNE 4, 2026) Interviewer: I read that you do not want to embrace Al. Kane: Absolutely not. For me the whole point of doing what I'm doing-art is a way of processing life. I don't see the value in outsourcing any element of that. When I'm looking at someone else's project, if I see an element of the environment [where] they use generative fill or whatever to change something about the scene, it just shuts off the part of my brain that wants to know more about that world. Because I would assume if they're willing to make an arbitrary choice there, they could make an arbitrary choice with literally anything.

jayce and viktor after being spat out by the hexcore in some alternate world. they both look surprised. viktor rises up and grabs jayce's face in both hands. Viktor: 'Jayce! You- you're alive? You're alive...' Jayce: 'Viktor...' jayce smiles at him with tears in his eyes, and viktor is overwhelmed with emotions. Jayce: 'We made it, Vik--!' Viktor kisses him suddenly, then breaks away laughing, too strung-out to know how else to respond. Jayce looks a little stuck for a moment before he, too, clings to Viktor and begins to cry.

The long, eel-like body is not suited for agility; mer are persistence hunters who mostly stick to the lake bed and are slow and graceless in open waters. viktor's tail is light green fading darker towards the end. his lateral fins are shaped like butterfly wings, and his degenerative condition affects the connective tissue in his fins causing holes and tears. he has 3 sets of pelvic fins, which mer use to aid in scooting around on the lake floor. his gills are damaged by aforementioned condition combined with pollution, so he has to live near the surface to breathe air. his max underwater time holding his breath is only about 20 minutes. he has pointy teeth, with which he has chewed through one of jayce's snorkels before. he is followed around by Rio, a crayfish of a rare pink morph.
