My 16 year old Papillon Archie passed suddenly tonight. I got 13 more years with him than I was supposed to, and they were good years. I will miss him absurdly, as he has been my constant companion for the last two years since we moved to our new home, following me room to room. Dogs are the best.

I am so sad and angry about the state of my country, and how it's been damaged by American media and American policies, that I am finding myself unable to sleep adequately, so instead I'm sleeping too much.
I really hope a miracle happens in November, for all the good it would do, I guess.

And today we went to a busy off leash boat dock. (He was not off leash) People and vehicles and doggos everywhere. Stayed for 2 hours. After the first hour, the muzzle came off. I'm so proud of my boy right now.
Now to provide more challenges at home and see how it goes.

For context, this is a doggo that we couldn't really take out very often because he was SO scared of people and other dogs that he'd react with wild barking and lunging trying to be super scary...a successful strategy for a GSD.
