Sunsets and sunrises really have a special talent of making the Lake District National Park even more beautiful than it already is.

If you are out in the Park catching sunsets and sunrises, please make sure you have the skills, have planned ahead for navigating in low visibility.

Taking lunch with you on a hike in the Lake District National Park? Please note that you may not find a bin while out on your adventure.

This is your reminder to take all your litter home with you. This includes general waste, dog poo and anything else that wasn't there before you visited.

Sometimes, a dog is all you need to make you smile.🐕‍🦺

Keep your dog safe, as well as livestock and native wildlife, by keeping them on a lead on the fells in the Lake District National Park.

Your dog's waste is your responsibility, so pick up any poo and take it with you.

Did you know? You can find stone circles in the Lake District.

During the late Neolithic and early Bronze Age (2,500-1,500 BC), people built monuments such as stone circles in prominent places. We don’t know why, but it seems that people wanted to make a mark on the land that others could see.

What makes a World Heritage Site?

In the Lake District, it's not just the landscape, but the generations of people who have shaped and cared for it.

Our latest blog celebrates some of those people - our Fix the Fells Rangers: https://lakedistrict.gov.uk/blog/the-hands-that-shape-the-fells/
