Ngā mihi nui to Forest&Bird welly branch for organising a picnic at parliament to tautoko the epic 35,000 strong march in Tāmaki Makaurau ✊️

The Green Party will ensure that conservation land is managed for nature, not for profit, and that there are strong limits on pollution or environmental harm.

Our Govt is so extremely destructive, 7 past Conservation Ministers have united to spell out just how bonkers their bills is

2mo (Sat 1pm) the good people of Tāmaki Makaurau will take to the streets and parliament lawn (in Pōneke) to March for nature.

Don't sit this one out. Nature needs you ✊️🌏🌳

This Govt have designed a new resource management system that decimates environmental protections and embeds climate denialism right into our core planning&environment laws.
This is what governing for greed over public good delivers for NZers. Runaway pollution and harm to our people and te taiao ☠️

Care about te taiao environment? It needs you! 👊

Enrol. Vote. Show up to the March for Nature 1pm Sat 19th Sept, Albert Park, Auckland ✊️

The Govt has such a warped understanding of anything that holds any real value - clean freshwater, healthy oceans& climate to grow food. They're fanatic about taxes, without any concept of how they're immeasurably costing the public and future generations who will ultimately pay the costs ☠️

49 days till voting starts. 48 days left to enrol. Titahi bay on form - so much determination to change the Govt and what better way to secure a future for all of us, than with a Green-led Government 🌏💚

Hours of debate and proposing sensible changes got NZ absolutely nowhere but a race to the bottom thanks to the Government *choosing* to bury it's head in the sand and kick all of our urgent environmental issues down the road for our kids and future generations to pay the price ☠️☠️
September 3, 2026 at 7:31 AM
Our most anti-environment Govt ever - has officially lost the plot in embedding environmental destruction and climate denialism and delay into the heart of their new Planning and Environment laws ☠️☠️

It's possible& necessary to prioritise the health of our people& environment 🌏 this ain't that.

Kiwis are connected to te taiao nature, and like Margaret, we will fight for our last remaining wild places ✊️

The Coal-alition Govt want to dam and drown the Makaroro river, including public Conservation land, to allow for more farming intensification and a quick buck for their Ag Industry mates.

Imagine having the reins of power in Government and CHOOSING to either entirely scrap environmental protections or loosen them till they're meaningless.

That's the Luxon Govt. Happy for the short term private profits of the few to trump a functional livable environment for everyone else ☠️☠️

The lols + sarcasm is just a trauma and sleep deprivation response to the 4 days under urgency in the debating chamber grilling the Ministers on their nightmare of the Government's newly proposed resource management bills that embed environmental destruction for a quick buck ☠️

Share. Enrol. Vote ✊️💚

This Government is ready set go on environmental destruction to fuel their addiction to a quick buck for their wealthy mates. The fight is on for nature, and that includes us humans. We and te taiao, nature needs you. Enrol. Vote. Spread the word ✊️

Dysfunctional Govt bills have gotten **EVEN WORSE** with last minute amendments introduced that make the claims of "environmental protections" even more of a fiction.

Our rivers, lakes, forests, coastlines and oceans are not open for unhinged pollution and destruction for the sake of a quick buck.

RSVP at link below to join Dr Tim Chambers, public health researcher and leading expert on the health impacts of nitrate contamination in drinking water.

Whether you're concerned about our environment or want to learn more about the future of freshwater this is a conversation not to be missed.

So many kiwis share the same story. That special river, lake or beach that holds connections across generations. For many, those environments of our past are now too polluted or degraded to safely swim or gather a feed from....continued in comments.

Let's draw a line in the sand. No mining on public Conservation land. If this Coal-alition Government actually listened to kiwis, this would be a no brainer.

It's in our nature to care for eachother and te taiao environment. For all of us 🐝🦋🌳🐧👶

If we're going to make good decisions that look after our communities, environment, and our future, we need to invest in science and research 👩🏽‍🔬 That means funding science for the public interest, not defunding or privatising the science sector 🏥🌏🌿 We can do better💚

Another week of more unworkable, dysfunctional legislation proposed by a Government who claims to know the price of everything, but so clearly know the value of nothing ☠️☠️

Their resource management bills are open season on pollution and exploitation of te taiao, environment, all for a quick buck🫣🤯
