I’m not interested in men in sports journalism writing or talking about this if they aren’t going to directly address men and misogyny in sports journalism.
From @theathletic.com: Texas quarterback Arch Manning joked about an AI-altered video circulating on social media that depicted Steve Sarkisian slapping ESPN reporter Holly Rowe, whom the Texas coach wouldn’t let ask a question during a postgame interview.
Arch Manning addresses Steve Sarkisian-Holly Rowe interaction, sparks fresh criticism
The brief postgame interview with Rowe did not come up during Sarkisian’s regular Monday news conference.

🗣️ LOUDER FOR EVERY ASSHOLE IN THE BACK, FRONT, MIDDLE, IN BETWEEN, LEFT, RIGHT, UP, OR DOWN 🗣️
We're being told that if we sacrifice the rights of some people, then the rest of us get to keep our rights.

We all know that's some BS.

He’s not “on the other side of the aisle,” he’s a private citizen whose only job is bagman! That you frame him as equivalent to a congressional leader is the entire problem!! Fuck!
Jeffries defends his meeting with Kushner: "I'm of the view that if we're going to be committed to actually solving problems on behalf of the American people ... they're are gonna be times that you have to speak with people on the other side of the aisle. Even people you strongly disagree with."

“The country’s response to the worst terror attack in our history was to launch a global war of hysteria that consisted of rage-bombing two countries, destabilizing an entire region, and seeding a police state that has now been fully weaponized by an authoritarian regime against its own citizens.”
Newsletter is up. I hate this day. For its sadness. And for the horrible decisions we made afterwards

After 9/11, I so feared what it would mean for our politics.

And here we are, 25 years later, with the President of the United States asking people to raise their hand and pledge allegiance to him and playing a video saying he was created by God to save us from domestic enemies.

There’s such an easy answer to this “gotcha” question and it’s “Sports are inherently unsafe and unfair and it’s ridiculous to single out trans athletes when we allow 150 pound linebackers to go up against 260 pound linemen in freshman football on a daily basis. Let kids play with their friends.”
Talarico: "I oppose trans athletes playing in girls' sports if it endangers safety or fairness"

Every bit of breaking news about the racist billionaire who is funding the Republican Party and destroying our entire world contains salacious details that would normally launch a full-scale assault by the entire media, but I guess he can't compete with "guy who films himself at a computer talking"

Once you notice this, it's the most obvious double standard in the political press.

Democrats have to answer for the smallest voice even if it has no actual tie to them, but Republicans never have to answer for the insanely racist billionaire donor driving their entire party.
Democrats who have had absolutely nothing to do with Hasan Piker will be hounded about him, while Republicans who are directly benefitting from Musk funding will be asked about him in the most generic "money in politics" way, if at all.

Destroying American landmarks and building monuments to himself is an abomination. Not the single worst thing, but emblematic of the whole problem.
I feel this too. People have always cared about symbols, many care a lot about symbolism today, and there's virtually no national voice channeling that.
Donald Trump is destroying the national capital to build Trump monuments. I wish liberal leaders would stop acting like it’s embarrassing to care. It’s an abomination, just like the war, the corruption, the racism.

Interesting side of Hitler I was unaware of

"Arguably Adolf Hitler’s greatest passion and pastime outside of his quest for world domination was his obsession with architecture and urban design."

Here he is with a model of the 330-foot high triumphal arch he wanted.
