Horror loving mom. Author of that mothman book, BELOW. Also WHISPERS IN THE DARK, CROSSROADS, EVERY WOMAN KNOWS THIS, SILENT KEY, SPIRIT COVEN, and THE DAY OF THE DOOR
I love this description 💙
The Day of the Door by @laurelhightower.bsky.social. A haunted house story that's scary without being mean-spirited, while still delving into some genuinely dark places (supernatural and otherwise).
If you see this, recommend a short book.

Playing charades with Tiny and @frank212.bsky.social and somehow the category we all guessed right was Tiny's idea of "tissue boxes in this house."

You're going to want this
Coming next year from @badhandbooks.bsky.social so you have plenty of time to prepare your heart. Thank you to @laurelhightower.bsky.social for the best blurb I've ever received!

As soon as someone says "contemporary horror bores me" I immediately tune them out. If you're experiencing media from a place of disdain it doesn't make you the litmus test, it makes you an insufferable twat.

Sometimes I think about some douchey party my ex brought me too full of aging frat guys and one pulled out Mike's Hard Lemonade and I said oh i see the drink of sexual predators everywhere and no one said a damn thing while I hit my whiskey

LOLOLOL not Cornell coming on scene acting like the f**kin victim now. That university should shutdown for good. No admin involved in that revolting decision should be employable anywhere in academia.

Excellent new column from @frank212.bsky.social
Issue #14 of my column MOANS FROM THE CONDIMENT FRIDGE @mrbullbull.bsky.social , titled DOUBLE FEATURE

This issue is about the drive-in I went to with my father, why decades later I didn't attend his funeral. It's old movies and complicated relationships

Exactly this. If you wouldn't swim with sharks why should we?
Not all men. Jesus Christ, don't you think women *know* that? Use your heads instead of getting defensive. Most of you would be terrified of swimming among sharks, even though sharks are stastically far less dangerous to you than men are to women.

I misheard a my little pony line and heard Raging Cheese Demon and started shrieking cheese names and this is why children lose patience with us isn't it

Well…that was one heck of a ride! Through darkness and caves full of monsters. And answers. And…maybe a little bit of finding peace with the past and hope for a future.
And this is why I DON’T GO IN CAVES AND TINY LITTLE TUNNELS.

Listen to Crossroads by @laurelhightower.bsky.social yesterday and come on guys! Please stop wreaking me with your words. I’m emotionally fragile right now. This was tragically beautiful and a punch in the gut. I think today I need to just listen to uplifting pop anthems to recover.
