Yeah that’s fine, I totally planned on crying with joy that my comfort show is returning, I am reacting perfectly normal to this news 😭🎉

This was a nice little Christmas read ❄️
I loved how most of the story was set on the train, so you really got involved in their lives.
I did get a little confused between the all the characters at the start but I picked them up after a while!

I was convinced I wasn’t going to like this book, which just shows that first impressions aren’t always everything!
It took a sec to get into, but once I did I was hooked!
Some of the plot twists I saw coming, but others defo pulled the rug from under me!

This was a lovely read to help kickstart the festive spirit!
I thought the treasure hunt was done really well, and I became just as invested as the characters in finding the lost book!
A perfect read for the coming season!

This book was ok.
I enjoyed Lucy’s growth & how she managed the hotel, bringing it from strength to strength.
However I found the romance bits too cringey for me, I had to skip them 🙈
It did help me to start getting into a festive mood though!

This was such an unexpected joy!
I was expecting a cozy, low stakes story but this book sunk its claws into me & wouldn’t let go!
I love Stephen & Grace, and I just fell into their story with such ease that I genuinely missed them when I finished it 😭

If Mist and Fury was the romantic dream, then this book was the cold hard reality!
I was so invested, I just couldn’t put it down!
My only issue was that I felt the end was wrapped up too easily 🎁
I’m looking forward to see where some characters go next 👀

This book started so well, but for me it kind of lost trajectory along the way 😕
I loved the beginning, but the more I read the more plot holes & inconsistencies showed up, not to mention character assassination 🗡️
It was a bit of a let down to be honest!

I loved the premise of this book, journeying into Hell to rescue a soul.
There were a couple of things that bothered me and a lot of the academic talk went right over my head, but I enjoyed it.
Also the Orpheus references made my little Hadestown heart sing!

Definitely need to read The Book of Doors soon if it’s anything like this!

I’m almost afraid to say that this book wasn’t it for me 🙈
I can absolutely see why it won The Booker Prize; the writing is so beautiful and it was incredibly moving 🌎
However it didn’t grip me. I struggled picking it up and could only read a chapter at a time

This was the first book chosen by the new book club I joined, & happily it was already on my TBR list!

I did enjoy it quite a bit, but I found that it got a bit repetitive after a while

I got this out of the library after watching Dept Q on Netflix 📺
It was quite a tense read, and although the show changed things up it was still a nail-biter of a book! 📖
It was a bit too graphic for me at times, so I think I’ll steer clear of thrillers for a bit!

I’ll be honest, I read this because of the tarot reading aspect, but the story was incredible!
The way it’s split by journal entries was a really clever way to show the difference in narrators!
Also gives you insight into the French Revolution!
