“Ordinary people are incidental to them; the United States nothing more than a land mass to be stripped and sold for parts. They are not working for the benefit of the American public, and several have stated or implied their fealty to a foreign power. But their deepest loyalty is to their money.”

Idea: a media player app that detects if a show or movie opens with an attention grabbing scene followed by "Three weeks earlier..." and skips it. It also bleeps out the word "literally"

MTG is resigning from Congress, in large part because of the death threats and abuse she has suffered from the pro-pedophile right in response to her laudable efforts to bring child rapists to justice.

Ilhan Omar has received more death threats than anyone else in Congress, but she stays strong.

I'm wondering why they would have enabled this feature, since the results seemed obvious. How does this serve Twitter's agenda?
Elon Musk’s latest feature on X has had some shocking and unintended consequences. trib.al/DbzlAFv

X users were able to use a new “about this account” feature to see what country accounts were based in. And for many “America First” posters, this revealed an inconvenient truth...

I told my kids Whitesnake's 1984 hit "Slide It In" was about cassette tapes and car stereos. I told them 1988's "Smooth Up In Ya" by BulletBoys was about not being able to get Sade's "Smooth Operator" out of your head. Whoever is exposing my kids to glam rock, please stop.

We're used to a regular arc to stories, where a lesson is learned or comeuppance is dispensed, but I bet a lot of ICE agents will view the cruelty they were able to inflict as a highlight of their lives.

Claude AI just asked me to opt in to use my interactions for training purposes, retaining all info for 5 years, offering nothing in return. In a better world, all people would own their info and those willing to sell it for money could be free to do so. Make me an offer, Claude, or go to hell.

A grim reminder: these people will never be satisfied. There’s no point at which they will say “we’ve won, let’s enjoy life.” They will always be looking for someone else to punish, to revile, to dehumanize. They’re empty without that.

I'd understand if you've avoided looking through the Epstein birthday book because the content is vile, but it's worth looking at if you can stomach it.

It provides important context for Trump's contribution, but also shows how widespread and how deep the rot ran.
It’s understandable why most of the media response to Jeffrey Epstein’s birthday book has focussed on its Trump-related content. “But this framing may actually undersell the book’s hideous, maggot-crawling depravity,” @winterjessica.bsky.social writes.
The Epstein Birthday Book Is Even Worse Than You Might Realize

The only thing I want to hear from elected officials or candidates is that, the moment they possess the power to do so, they will hold Trump and his accomplices responsible for their rampant lawlessness. It's a litmus test I will 100% apply regardless of who it is. This is a pass-fail test.
