I had the delightful realization that today I'm doing all the things I loved doing as a kid, just with more sophistication and breadth. I didn't have to change much in adulthood. It's a blessing.

I went to my first rock concert in 1991. The magic of hearing live music from one of the most influential rock bands in history took a strange turn when Axl Rose went on a homophobic rant about how he saw two guys kissing, whipping the whole crowd into an angry frenzy. [1/2]

An alumni booklet from my HS came with a 2pg spread featuring the grossest bully writing about the importance of character and that "how you treat people, that's who you are." 100% agreed. He was a real piece of shit. Today, I hope his actions match his rhetoric and that he's living his best life. 🕊️

Why do we call it 'storytelling' when a writer is supposed to 'show, not tell'? Maybe the craft should be called 'storyshowing'.

People misspell my name all the time when replying to my messages. Every darned day. So I've devised a clever way to help everyone spell my (or anybody's) name correctly:
Step 1. Look at how the sender spells their name in the message or email that you're replying to.
Step 2. Spell it like that.
