Returning back to work on the next video while I have some free time available. I wanted to make a general game design observation about monster tamers with "classic" turn-based combat, and I managed to find several good examples, so why, again, are we still using that one franchise as a reference

There was always this risk ever since Discord took over as the replacement for online forums. Anyway, if you haven't yet, now's the time for boycotting because nothing scares companies more than reactionay financial losses.

If you want another reason to hate large language models, this warning made me want to just not read the whole wiki page, And it's not like I can just check other sites since search engines were borked by AI and anything written since 2025 has a good chance of being AI slop anyway

I think my next video will be discussing a bunch of new stuff revealed for CB2k2, even if it's somewhat stale news by the time the vid releases. The originally planned video essay will be delayed for a bit, about 15% done. Kaizo is also being worked on during office hours (don't tell my colleagues)

If, and this is a big if, the CB1 partners show up in CB2k2, how can we be sure they're the same person we met from New Wirral? Imagine finally meeting them again being like I miss you so much and they're like oh, I think you got the wrong person? There's some good storytelling potential right there

Anyway, for me there is this line in which any info beyond this is something I'd rather not know when I play it for the first time and it's getting harder and harder to decide where the line should be

PC had an almost-near-death experience today. Fortunately everything is fine again, but memory slots were misbehaving during troubleshooting. Sure the RAM sticks have been in use for about 8 years now but in this economy they're basically gold bars

I've mentioned this before on the Discord, but: in the event that I record a first playthrough of CB2k2, is it better to import history or to start with a clean slate and smurf all over Nodnol? There's a nonzero chance the video will be watched by those who haven't played CB1 yet for some reason
When Cassette Beasts 2002 launches, those of you who journeyed through the first game will be able to import your history from CB1 into the game via a save game code! It'll carry over your relationships and history, and let your continue your story as the same character!

Just completed my first run of CB Archipelago solo and it goes about as poorly as you'd expect. Will be making a commentary style video on this soon and maybe get more folks to try it out. I don't stream (yet) but I think it would make for a good stream game to just chill and do one of these

Been messing around with CB Archipelago, which as a solo experience is basically an interesting item randomizer. This + having some vanilla randomizer settings enabled sounds like the sort of thing that would be right up my alley. Could also be fun to rope a bunch of other folks to do multi-world
