now the One Piece regional is wrapped up I'm chilling on card games for a bit, there's one more OP and Dragon Ball regional in the UK this year and I'm not bothering with either of them, I do enjoy competitive play but regional practice is a Lil Too Close to feeling like revising for an exam

bout halfway through Skypiea on my partner's watch of One Piece and I knew I'd like it more on a second viewing but I forgot how many throwaway funny moments there are around this time, the part where the singing birds hatch and then kick the shit out of Usopp had me rolling

Well I woke up at 1am and can't risk going back to sleep as I need to be up at 5am tomorrow for the One Piece regional so uhh, looks like it's 24 hours of Koby grinding baybee

the reality of taking Koby to a major One Piece regional is settling in so I'm just assigning myself to the "try your best and have fun" mentality, after a few hundred games of practice here's a tier list for how screwed I am in each matchup

admittedly as I've fallen out of love with wrestling I haven't seen a lot of Pac's recent work but the title match he had with Zayn in NXT was what locked me in on watching that show every week for a while, also mad respect for him walking out on them for not being booked to the level of his talent

Townfall in the books, a mixed bag but there's some banger moments in there, some tighter design in some parts and a little more dreamlike subtlety would've elevated it. It's pretty blunt with what it's going for from the first hour but it's generally well done just doesn't crawl into your mind

not breaking new ground here but Townfall is a reminder that the idea of "less effective combat = scarier monsters" is fundamentally flawed unless you come up with something else to fill that gap
(also instantkill monsters immediately become more annoying than scary after they get you once lol)

hoping to wrap up Townfall tonight but I'm just happy in general that Silent Hill is back, Konami deserve zero credit their strategy for the series is basically Ctrl + F reviews of indie horror games for SH2 comparisons and google the devs email address but it's better than them trying to make one

I have no interest in playing the Wolverine game but also not got much time for the dogpiling on it either, worse games than this have got free passes and if Sony wasn't already in the Gamer Doghouse then different people would have these guys in their replies

I watched the full Hasan Axious interview (the one the terrorism clip is from) and it's like entirely gotcha questions designed to farm clips of him praising China/Russia/Hamas etc. and he manages to juke about 95% of them gracefully with an answer noone can really argue with

just learned this today
One Piece regional is 2 weeks away and I'm accepting that my dumb ass is just gonna play Koby even tho he has two borderline unwinnable matchups in the meta and there's no way I won't run into them on the day, but also I'm not doing much better with anything else so I may as well roll out the boy

I already wasn't that interested in this Wolverine game but now I can never forgive it because I'm seeing screenshots of people complaining about Sweet Baby on my feeds again
genuinely recoiled the first time I saw it I can't believe this is still a thing, 2014 never ended for some people huh

Roman Sands RE:Build is out. After so many years, you can finally play our labour of love.
It's deranged, it goes SO MANY PLACES, it probably shouldn't exist, and I've no idea if you're going to like it or not but that ain't the point.

every card shop on my feeds is putting out their hostage statement to Pokémon people to please not smash up the shop or kill their staff probably a sign of a healthy market
I haven't even seen or heard anyone talking about the actual cards, it was predetermined that this set would be The End Times

idk if they used AI for the new Layton (this is talking about the remake) but I was really underwhelmed with the reveal either way, sadly it looks like Level 5 is a shell of what it used to be
Level 5’s CEO has confirmed that generative AI was used for its recent Yo-Kai Watch and Professor Layton game reveals and apologized to disappointed fans.
