Also, and this can not be understated, while them and their cornies directly profit from it.

It sucks that this is the case but when a game studio shuts down I feel like we need to stop pretending there is another studio out there for those employees to go to. I fully understand the sentiment of wanting people to be placed or find another job but they just don't exist like that.

"I think using Claude actually improved the overall piece and, frankly, definitely improved it's readability" is a fundamentally terrible sentence.
Less shocking to me was reading this bit at the end, where Erickson - whose entire day-to-day job is just wanking out a bit of punditry once or twice a week - has handed much of that over to AI.

Build A Rocket Boy received funding as a result of an already bygone era to make what was essentially an Xbox 360 game while promising it would be a forever game while one of the owners had a prolonged crash out. Honestly, the least interesting aspect of that company continues to be Mindseye itself.

There is, to an extent, a level of delusion necessary in all professional athletes.

Watson is so far beyond that and seems to truly believe he is a professional football player when he wouldn't even be in the league right now if not for the browns ineptitude.
Full quote from Browns QB Deshaun Watson. Was asked if he feels like he needs to have a strong performance Sunday to come home with some goodwill in Week 3.

There is no such thing as being apolitical. That's a marketing term, not a reality. Ed Sheeran is very clearly showing his politics through his actions, just like everyone else does. You can stick your fingers in your ears and hide under a blanket but it doesn't somehow change reality.

Wealth has nothing to do with intelligence and runs counter in many ways.

Weiss has never had any actual skills or capability besides telling equally dumb people like Ellison that she did and he fully bought in. People want big conspiracies but they don't exist. These are just very dumb people.
a lot of people think that faillison hired bari weiss to deliberately destroy CBS news and i think all of you need to consider the possibility that he hired her because he genuinely thought she would be successful.
a wild thing is that they didn’t just give her editorial control, they gave her what sounds like operational control (over hiring/firing), which would be objectively an insane thing to do even if she was good at editorial, which she isn’t, or had experience at an org this size, which she doesn’t

The vast majority hate the idea of being wrong or confrontation or being challenged. They want to live within the confines of their bubble. Assuming this is a real person, this is someone that's not trying to win over anyone but get likes from their bubble to reinforce their created reality.
Do you think this is a compelling argument? Do you think you're winning anyone over with this?

I have not played more then maybe an hour of Overwatch since 2018. A few times in OW I loaded up the Halloween mode, realized it was the same and left. I played OW2 for ten minutes, realized it was not for me and quit. Seeing Blizzard still doing the same nerf's is kind of strange to me.

Exec: We're going to make a movie about your life.
Sean Payton: Great.
Exec: It will be about the time you lied about bounties.
Payton: ... Ok.
Exec: but it's going to be a Netflix original!
Payton: Oh. Uhh...alright.
Exec: And you'll be played by Kevin James.
Payton: Is he still skinny?
Exec: no.

Nothing says great director like being either too dumb to understand what you did or too much of a coward to acknowledge your failures to society
Filmmaker Danny Boyle, who used AI in his new film 'Ink,' dodged a question about the broader implications of AI at TIFF:

“The why of it… is a hugely complicated [question], which I don’t think we’ll need to go into here.”

The moderator then abruptly ended the Q&A.

Malala said go birds and Elon Musk is over here trying to claim chess is too simplistic for his vast mind. We know who is on the right side of history.

I mean we already knew because Musk is a genocidal racist

Every single part of what this guy describes makes him look like a giant worthless piece of shit who then frames that as "just being honest". They continually laid people off for years but hey, the crunch is ok because we claim we give people money (even though there is zero evidence that's true).

I have to say, asking a stripper "where were you on 9/11" is absolutely not the amazing age verification one reader seemed to think it was

This feels like a planted statement.

Moore had a middling game after a fine one. I assume they blow the wheels off Portland State. What happens against USC? I suppose that would be the real tell.

The only reason PFF was ever taken remotely seriously was as a result of Collinsworth putting money into it and making a deal with NBC. Outside of being one of the first to deeper grading systems for lineman and other positions that, at the time, weren't being looked it, it never had much value.
There was a firestorm on PFF grading Caleb Williams' dominant performance just a 64.0

It was so bad they published an entire article with their explanation. They said part of the grade counted for an interception Williams threw which was completely negated by a defensive offsides penalty...

The reality of LLM's is that there are absolutely parts of industries that are being replaced, but it's also by companies that aren't likely to exist in 2-5 years. This is all a front to lay people off that owners had already decided were not worthwhile but needed a scape goat.

I have a sneaking suspicion that Geno Smith will be closer to where Mahomes is right now when he's not playing the Titans.

Also Cooper Rush...woof.
Pretty rough outing for Patrick Mahomes last night. He was 12% below his expected completion rate, the worst mark in the league in Week 1.

His 41% success rate was in line with Kirk Cousins and Daniel Jones.
