Employers underpay their workers by an estimated $50 billion every year through various forms of wage theft. That's more than every type of property crime COMBINED.
DoorDash alone paid a $131.5 million settlement in New York City for underpaying their delivery drivers.

Seattle city council's District 5 has been held by pro-business backed candidates for a long time. Debora Juarez has held this seat on-and-off for nearly a decade. Cathy Moore won the seat in 2024, but resigned 18 months later.

There is a special election *right now* to fill the seat until 2028.

District 5 residents! I totally forgot about vouchers because unlike a normal City of Seattle campaign season there aren't a lot of candidates looking for them/eligible. Please join me in assigning yours to Nilu Jenks here: neighborsfornilu.org/vouchers

Mayor Wilson, Councilmember Foster, Councilmember Saka and I are teaming up to ban surveillance pricing at grocery chains in Seattle. Surveillance pricing is a harmful practice where your data is weaponized against you to price gouge. (1/2)

I'm hearing some concerns up about implementing "no turn on red" as a default policy in Seattle, so it's worth remembering that allowing turns on red only saves "1-5 seconds" on average for 🚗 drivers, meanwhile it increases 🚶🏼 crashes 60% and 🚴🏾‍♀️ crashes 100%. Join us today at 2 pm if you can! In person or testify remotely.

I wish we were voting on Phase 2 and adopting new neighborhood centers across the City today. 🤷🏻‍♂️

But hopefully we can at least pass legislation to minimize future harmful and unnecessary delays.
Support SEPA reform in Seattle by asking the city council to end predatory delay procedures from city law. The big vote is today!

How should progressives in Seattle vote without using the Stranger? I just filled out my ballot, and this cheat sheet was how.

I know a lot about most races. But where I didn’t, I looked at this site. Where there wasn’t consensus, I went to @theurbanist.org to read their excellent analysis.
Are you voting this weekend? Wondering how lefty organizers on the ground are thinking about this primary? ElectionCheatSheet.org has you covered no matter the level of detail!

Switch from a quick voter guide, to deep research on each lefty orgs’ endorsement pages, in just a few taps!

Gonna keep saying we need a local WPA. But gonna call it the Seattle Green Progress Administration. They will maintain water fountains, bathrooms, landscaping. I will personally run propaganda to paint them as the heroes they are. Imagine the great jobs for the ppl who need & deserve them
We can’t have water and public toilets because (gasp) people will use them! also alive and well in Portland and everywhere else pretty much

We have to invest in care and maintenance crews, which are also a low barrier way to employ people looking for paths back into jobs and housing
Water fountains disappeared from the Longleaf Trace in June as the board that governs it grew concerned about how homeless people were using its facilities.

Runners and bikers who use the 44-mile trail fear the decision could have dire consequences in Mississippi's summer heat.

It’s in Project 2025.

Also, they wish to privatize the US mail, and follow endless plans to make more money for billionaires.

I won’t do the analysis today, but who do you think pays the price?
