This poem from Whatever You Do, Just Don't is for anybody who's had to clear a house, who's found objects that must have had significance for someone no longer here to tell their story....

There are howls of protest from the right about plans for Birmingham to be a 20mph city. But it will be a good thing, and others will follow, says transport writer and podcaster Christian Wolmar

14 hours later and my mentions are still full of angry treatises about badly behaved cyclists.

Bike lanes are not a reward for good cyclist behavior! They are infrastructure proven to make cities safer for ALL ROAD USERS. Whatever way cyclists have wronged you is irrelevant to the discussion!
Every conversation about bike lanes is like:

"Car crashes kill a huge number of people every day, including pedestrians, cyclists, & car occupants. Good bike infrastructure has been shown to make everyone safer (& doesn't increase congestion)."

"But sometimes cyclists break rules & hit people!"

Car companies and their advertisers WANT car buyers to see themselves as privileged, entitled, anti-social and obnoxious.

It’s a specific branding goal.

They should be held accountable.

But they seemed like such nice, patriotic, community-minded chaps.
(Except the ones currently facing murder, child abuse & assault charges, obviously.)
Leaders of flag-raising group Raise the Colours Oxfordshire placed trackers on highway workers’ cars to find out their home addresses, the High Court has heard. RTC then attempted to intimidate the highway staff into no longer removing flags by repeating their addresses to them.

If you are wealthy, I think you should spend more money on clothes. There's no pride in buying clothes for the lowest possible price, as this puts downward pressure on garment worker wages and increases the likelihood of exploitation.
