Long term, they want to move her to be preserved at former RAF Manston.

Things like this make me proud to be British 🤣
Was interviewed by a US journalist today who asked if we were all panicking about terrorists at Fairford, which ended with me trying to explain dogging.

At some point, I will catch up with myself and post a few pictures of the summer. Mostly aircraft and vehicle photos, but photos nonetheless.

In the meantime, here’s a frankly epic cherry bakewell tart from Props & Pistons at East Kirkby on the August Bank Holiday Monday.

Very much feeling at this point like I’m clinging on by my fingernails until Young Mr R goes back to school tomorrow …

It’s been a very busy summer.

It was so cool to catch Fubar Aviation’s Lim-5 (aka a MiG-17F) on the ground at Duxford the other week 🤩

Sad I haven’t seen her in the air, but I’ve loved seeing everyone else’s images of her.

One of these is going to have to get a mention in Book 2, now 😁

It was a pleasure to talk to Pieter about my book and Vulcans 😁
In our latest episode, we talk to Lindsay Rumbold about the aviation thriller, Banshee. It is a cracking Cold War story with the Vulcan very much at its heart.
Lindsay talks about why the Vulcan was the right aircraft for this tale

Dave and Young Mr R are out for the morning. I have free time to write!

So obviously, I’ve hoovered and dusted the house instead 🤦🏻‍♀️

And now I’m getting sidetracked by the history of the Korean War (which is technically important background info for a few characters …)

It’s been a busy week. Haven’t had much writing time but I can feel it itching in the back of my brain, for when I get chance …

I’ve spent quite a bit of time with my 1950s antagonist (who I kind of like as a person, oddly). Now to do the same with my 2024 one. He’s not such a pleasant person.

At the weekend, this happened - we were treated to a flight from Duxford, over Cambridge in a Dragon Rapide 😁

Wonderful experience, and my soft spot for this biplane got even bigger. She’s a lovely thing.

If you get chance, do it!

As it’s the school holidays, yesterday was baking time with Young Mr R. We made cake dinosaurs, and he thought it would be fun to give the dinos googly eyes.

These dinosaurs have seen things. Terrible things 😂

Nigel Farage is breaking British company law.

Missed a deadline to file a confirmation statement with Companies House.
Failed to verify his identity, required by law.
Failure to comply is a criminal offence.

Low attendance in parliament but busy with 2nd jobs, collecting money from foreign donors.

I don't want to jump to conclusions, but I don't recall the white protestent masked blokes in the northern bit of Ireland rioting about the 10 men, 3 women & 2 children murdered in Northern Ireland over last 12 months. All the accused in these case are white. Could that be vaguely relevant?

Unreasonably annoyed this morning that the washing machine didn’t run overnight, as I’d set it.

Why?

Because after I set it and went to bed, it decided it needed a software update.

Software update?! IT’S A ****ING WASHING MACHINE. What can it possibly want to update so urgently? 😠
