Entirely susceptible to clickbait today: first an article about the need for an independent Scottish central bank, and now the Hasan Piker interview on the FT

no please we don't want them (the camdenians)
Maybe he'll use hypnosis to increase the volume and circumference of Camden until it includes Hackney.
Find it both grating and frankly, deeply weird, that Zack Polanski’s leaflets are simply dishonest about where he lives.

Literally nobody cares. It’s normal to move within London. “Hackney man seeks job in Camden” is not something you need to play word games around.

I've drafted half a dozen posts about "becoming British" but the TLDR is that one really can integrate by taking an open mind and curiosity to most interactions. I love this country (in a non-flag-flaunting way) even if it is imperfect.
One reason England does so well is our second generation immigrants outperform their peers which is not true in most OECD countries.

We are also very good at integration. And it's v sad that this is never acknowledge in debates on immigration.

It's not tech or tracking that will solve this issue but outlawing time-based pricing and introducing distance-based fares instead. The current business model incentivises getting from point A to point B as fast as possible!

I love how the people crying "foreign-funded international meddling in our sovereign politics" have been funding other people's meddling in politics abroad. Burn MCC to the ground
What really intrigues me about all this nuttiness is how the stolid Christianity part coheres with the "and it's utterly wicked even to contemplate slowing down tech" Thiel-ist bit
