I am an Alaska-based filmmaker and screenwriter developing character-driven films that blend emotional intimacy, social awareness, and classical cinematic craft.
Yes, TADC has some bad fans. Yes, some of it won’t make sense if you haven’t seen the show. And yes, I have reservations about TV show episodes making their way to movie theaters.

But yes, the movie still works despite that!

A good read. Also puts into perspective just how far we SHOULD go to fix our schools. In regard to actual public safety, of course (not in terms of quasi-religious moral panic).

It’s almost like making schools incrementally safer is a good idea…

ProPublica on X: "The bill is an effort to help with millions in backlogged maintenance needs for Alaska schools: leaking roofs, broken pipes, failing foundations. If signed by the governor, the money would still cover only a fraction of requested repairs. https://t.co/5yu1MddeIQ" / X

There are a few things that strike me about director Stephen Soderbergh. Yes he has recent opinions on AI that are…unpopular, but in his pre-AI heyday? He was one of the most prolific and versatile filmmakers to live in the modern world.

Paul Verhoeven is a Dutch director who…at least during the 1980s/90s…was REALLY good at smuggling thoughtful commentary into debatably ‘lowbrow’ genres like science fiction.

Just saw ‘An Affair to Remember’ and…I don’t necessarily condone cheating on your partner (especially if they’ve done nothing wrong) but this iconic Cary Grant line when he’s asked if he wants to play cards and he declines:

‘I cheat, it’s an addiction’

Iconic. No notes. 😂

So…here’s the deal.

This is ‘Roomies’ a film that is THREE YEARS IN THE MAKING!

It’s not incredible, but it was the best and cheapest film school I could afford.

It’ll only be available for 45 days for FREE on YouTube before going through other distribution avenues.

While watching this trailer for the fifth time, I came up with my weirdest take yet: Hazbin Hotel is the Firefly (2002; 1 season) of this generation.

You know, for a British film with the semi-instructional title ‘How to Have Sex (2023)’, said film is MUCH more heartwarming and poignant than it has any right to be (still not for everyone though…).

WARNING: Rated R for insane disturbing material (trust me on this one).

I AN definitely late to the party on this one, but Adult Swim’s ‘Too Many Cooks’ is one of the most fun times I’ve had with a viral video in a long time.

Should I go down the ‘Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared’ rabbit hole? Yay or nay?

Not sure why I decided to revisit this…

…but Batman Mask of the Phantasm is BY FAR one of the best theatrically released Batman movies; animated or live action.

Obviously not counting direct-to-video stuff (like Under the Red Hood) they go:

Weapons is everything a good horror movie should be: well-made, cathartic, and above all bone-chilling.

Alice Doesn’t Live Here Anymore is a surprisingly funny and grounded drama, even if it’s not as entertaining or engaging as Scorsese’s best work.

The Naked Gun 2025 proves that comedies work in theaters regardless of how packed the audience is (or isn’t) and is gut bustingly more hilarious as a result.

Here’s the thing: Little Women 2019 pays careful attention to the details of its time while telling a truly emotional and powerfully acted story.
