This also smells like the Capcom AI thing. People will turn a blind eye to a lot (in Blizz's case... A LOT) if they fundamentally like the thing that comes out the other end.

One of the things that gets me about the Physint news is that Xbox is still in the process of laying thousands of people off. 3,200 more people are supposed to get cut through 2027! But you’ve got the money to support a big Kojima project now?

Luke is one of the smartest and coolest dudes in the AI field. You should follow him if you actually care about AI in games
I am speaking as part of the Glitch AI Festival/Conference thing that everyone's up in arms about today.
When I talked to the organizer I got a much more balanced impression than the lineup seems to suggest, but I was also very clear where I stood on AI.
It will be interesting to see how this goes
