Under new rules, what might become of two apartments on South William Street, rented for years as short-term lets? It depends, in part, on whether the owners can prove they've been holiday lets for more than seven years – and whether planning enforcement noticed.

Richard Chambers on Instagram: "Minister Patrick O’Donovan has responded to comments from @doireannnighlacain in a lengthy press conference. The podcaster had asked if the Minister “would take the day off from being an eejit”. He touted his move to make the Basic Income for the Arts scheme permanent and said he had more important things to be worrying about. It comes after the Minister’s planned €100 Culture Card did not make Budget 2027, and he announced that RTÉ’s funding for 2027 would be cut by €20m because he hadn’t seen sufficient progress in reform at the broadcaster."
