Elsie's second gotcha anniversary. Very different dog from the one we picked up from Dog's Trust Shrewsbury two years ago, having put on 6kg, turned foxy red, learned to bark and hate squirrels, and perfected looking cute.

The Scottish Government have increased the higher personal care allowance by £16 per month which has reduced the monthly care home fee by .15%. Every Little Helps.
I am actually very grateful for the allowance, overall it makes a difference, just illustrating the feeling of a raindrop in the ocean.

After the morning in Berwick on Tweed we decamped to Spittal sands for lunch and enjoyed the sun and sea breeze. Elsie on the other hand was unimpressed

I can tell OH has switched his brain off. We're driving down a 2 mile dead straight road so I do the obvious what have the Romans etc. OH, aren't we on the wrong side of the wall? Me, no. Took him a while. Then, no I meant for Roman stuff I point to the three big hills in front of us - "Trimontium"?

My mate has climbed the Old Man of Hoy to celebrate his 70th birthday and I could not be happier for him. I'm using it as an excuse to have a glass of fizz.

Personally I would not pick this fight with the youtube guy who demonstrates all the ways he can nail you with an arrow at 200 yards using his feet while wearing 12-inch Pleasers, whose wife can also kill you with her bare hands, and has 9 billionteen followers who are all trans women with swords.

The day's plans cut short with Elsie suddenly developing a limp and not putting weight on one paw by the time we got her back to the van. Local vets lovely, nothing serious and she has form for weak ankles so replenished the Metacam stock and short walks tomorrow which fits our plans.

All the tourist busses go to Melrose Abbey, but I much prefer Dryburgh. It has a peaceful stillness about it set amongst mature trees and by the river, a good place to wander with your thoughts or sit and read.

Went to Trentham Gardens yesterday and treated myself finally to an annual pass so even I'd I've only got half an hour I can still pop in. I managed the lakeside walk plus a bit more,so just over 3 miles, at a good walking pace which is the first time I've felt able in months. Resting today.

So, despite the media and high profile so called 'farmer' hoo-ha, it looks like Rachel Reeves was right about inheritance tax on large agricultural estates!

Tired pup after a day at daycare. When I dropped her off there were two huskies that were on their first day back after 3 weeks holiday and were expressing their unhappiness by going full air raid siren mode.

I just think that risking your life at a moment's notice to save people you've never met in exchange for no money is a better expression of patriotism than dressing up like a Poundshop paramilitary and intimidating families with kids trying to get onto a ferry.

Today's walk was say hello to the Staffies day. I chose a walk for me rather than Elsie so we had a bimble along the busy bit of the canal, unfortunately the marina cafe was closed so no sausage buttie for lunch 😕
