In the current AI hype cycle, notice they first "attacked" the game Go, then protein folding (which they shuttered recently completely: www.engadget.com/2225849/goog...), and now they are focused on mathematics — these harmful insertions of this industry into human cognitive activities and labour...
If you're anti AI & making claims that some of the models under the AI umbrella are ok because they seem to be serving scientific goals, then you fell for a type of hype. One from the 2010s; stats models aren't blessed by their use in science and they can erode our thinking. bsky.app/profile/oliv...

one of those rough days, by lunchtime i'd already spent $1000 on the vet and $300 on the dentist, now it's time to simply ponder becoming smoothbrained as i watch ai devour everything in my life that has any meaning
