I posted a devlog for (Everyone Roll A) Perception Check, which is currently in the very cool TTRPG Collective Anniversary Bundle. @jayeeis.bsky.social ran some super helpful playtests of the new version, and this game is turning into something very exciting.

Diving into My Late Father's Correspondence by @storybrewersroleplaying.com which is right up my alley for so many reasons (grief, historical, letter writing, slow pace) but I didn't realize how much it'd speak to my inner CURSIVE aficionado. As someone who insists on writing in cursive often - 1/?

I had the great pleasure of seeing my amazing fifth grade teacher today while I was visiting home. Good news, everyone, he still remembers the murder mystery play he let me & a friend write, direct, and produce as part of class, where we made him play the murder victim. 10/10 would repeat 5th grade.

Does the trailer for 1996 feature film "Fly Away Home" and/or the song "10,000 Miles" performed by Mary Chapin Carpenter instantly bring anyone else to tears? Or is that just me & my childhood hyperfixation?

This Winter I'll be teaching an Experimental TTRPG course and I'll be focusing on solo journaling games.

If you have a game you think I should read, or you have a game you really love, please plug it and tell me about it. ✨ Also please share widely. I want some non US perspectives.

Gearing up for Tabletop Train Jam 3 and realizing that a bundle is just not going to be a feasible addition… the fall into winter is when work gets the busiest/most stressful. I tried last year and dropped the ball, so we’re going back to a regular for-fun jam this year.

gonna host an invisible ttrpg game jam called "i made this just for me" and all you have to do to participate is make a game just for yourself and not post it anywhere

Just three days left in Unknown Dungeon's One-Page RPG Jam. It ends August 16th 2026 at 6:00 PM.

So far there are 389 entries!

I've written quite a bit about one-page RPGs and provided a bunch of resources. Here's a thread of some of the top ones!

I love the weird, wonderful games being created for this year's @onepagerpgjam.bsky.social, but hacking a system is such a comfort process AND brain stretch for me; I love hacks of existing games just as much.

Anyway, here's my latest Princess Sword game.

Nick Drake season (the period of time each year where I listen almost exclusively to Nick Drake) always comes on unexpectedly, but once it's here, it's HERE.

Things I have done instead of finish my last one-page rpg jam entry:

-Researched buying used Nick Drake CDs online
-Read 3 games (research for a round-up blog post)
-Read chapter of a book about solitude (research for a DIFFERENT game)
-Wrote down 2 new game ideas
-Opened 1000+ tabs
-Made this list

No! YOU WILL SAVE INDIES!

Go leave a review for that neat indie game you like, share the trailer for an upcoming game you're anticipating, tell your fave developer they did a good job, go tell people about such and such game that's just come out, you can make a difference!

Local yart sale was long, delightful, and ultimately a really fun success. Sold most of the paintings I brought out, plus more games than I expected to. Saw some lovely pals, met some cool new ones, ran out of business cards but they're a little outdated anyway, good stuff!

I learned the hack where shaking a hard boiled egg in a mason jar makes it easier to peel.

Turns out the peeling was the only thing holding me back from eating hard boiled eggs all the time.
