Best Singles This Year (So Far)
Man/Woman/Chainsaw - Nosedive (Indie Rock)
Super pleasant arpeggiated synth line, chunky bass and a sickly sweet violin melody with a little bit of wall of noise
Knocked Loose & Denzel Curry - Hive Mind (Alt. Metal)
Heavy fusion of rap and metalcore that doesn't get corny because Denzel is such a master of flow with this kind of vibe
ARIA VEIL & Vylet Pony - The Rush (Digicore)
Manic clean keys, a revving bass and hi hats that just don't quit with vocals that are stronger than I expected
After Louise - Fine (Indie Pop)
Haven't heard such an infectious bassline since the Tame Impala song that defined a generation.
Fleur Electra - Get it Right (Synthpop)
Really strong hook and great percussion. Actually smart use of cowbell in 2026.
Joey Valence & Brae - Push the Pipe (Hip Hop)
Some of JVB's most memorable bars in a minute and the energy is off the charts "I'm a fuckin blue eyes white dragon."
Indigo De Souza - Come to God (Electropop)
Bombastic glitchy synth stabs that end up going great with her anxious vocal delivery.
Junior Mesa - do your best nicholas (Art Rock)
Swirling, sun-drenched overlapping guitar tones create an almost psych rock odyssey in a short runtime.
NEW IN MAY
aaron's book club - Spiral (Emo Pop)
Simple, raw and I connect with the lyrics on a spiritual level "Pity myself for being alive and then wake up tomorrow alright."
Ok Goodnight - Spiral (Prog. Rock[ / Jazz Fusion])
Slow to start but the jazz drumming is immaculate, the hook is great along with the dizzying bursts of tempo.
Cheekface - I Don't Work Here (Indie Rock)
Mega funky groove and maybe one of the most memorable irreveren lines i've heard ever "Put away the cuck chair."
Jorja Smith - What's Done is Done (Deep House)
Goofy theatrical string stabs somehow turn into an intensely compelling primal bonfire type beat.](https://cdn.bsky.app/img/feed_thumbnail/plain/did:plc:gbat5wckmds4lmz7ir6n6hjn/bafkreibsgqil5hrcggc6bpobjwpv6jq5h57gaulqdhajxomimw56w5zpuu)

Updated new music list through May, gonna make graphics at the end of the month now I guess.
the top 4 albums is the only thing that's really ranked here, everything else is just sort of a sampler. There's a lot of music in 5 months lol.
