My mother died of cancer a week before 9/11 so this time has always been heavy for me. I remember turning on the TV & the horrible scenes of the WtC attacks. I saw the second plane hit & the buildings fall. It seemed surreal.

I was the DVD Product Specialist at a Tower Records in SF 2004-2006. Two stories. Music upstairs, video below. We had rental, both VHS & DVD. Phased out VHS. Had guest bands like Erasure. I loved that place & was there until the end. We played Europe’s Final Countdown for the last hour (on repeat).

I have never felt older than the longing I just felt for weird little video stores because none of the films I want to watch are streaming in the US but I know I could've rented them on VHS if this was 1999!
