Ok, @magictavern.bsky.social @arnieniekamp.bsky.social @chuntttttt.bsky.social and @usidore.bsky.social, I need to know the story of how you got Vaden Todd Lewis on the show. It was certainly a great, but unexpected, surprise to see this morning and I am very curious.

Also, great episode!

Just a quick FYI: Due to my (Cody) schedule, I am stepping back from the show for a bit. As I am working on a Master's I can't devote as much time to the show as I want. The next IJ episode will be done as soon as possible, I promise, and the main show will go on without me.

Never thought we'd get to 100k downloads, but here we are. Thank you so much everyone for listening and supporting the show over the years! We've loved doing it and look forward to what we have planned for the future.

Hoo boy, we spent some time talkin' last night. Chapter 42 is a big one (in terms of how much information is packed into it), so this is gonna be our longest episode to date. Record time was just over five hours, so the finished episode will likely be around the five hour mark

This week, our interview with Heather Parry (Orpheus Builds A Girl, Carrion Crow) is out. If, for some reason, you need to know what two of us look like, you can watch the interview on YouTube; where it is our first (and maybe only) video interview available

Probably due to a recent re-listen of their Great Gatsby episode, I Had a dream that @magictavern.bsky.social (@arnieniekamp.bsky.social @usidore.bsky.social @chuntttttt.bsky.social) did a new book club episode on The Crying of Lot 49 and had us on. Not sure how it went, but I'm sure it was fun

We were fortunate enough to have Heather Parry (Orpheus Builds A Girl, Carrion Crow) on the show today. The interview, which will be our first ever video episode, will be out... sometime? I don't have an exact date, but soon.

A listener (www.youtube.com/@matthewjose... on YouTube) made this really fun "best of" compilation of our show and we wanted to share it. Give it a listen and check out his channel!

Can’t recommend this book enough. It has me totally removing myself from the social media world and abandoning YouTube. Their complicity in so much of the awfulness going on is inexcusable and I can’t be a part of it anymore

I can’t recommend this book enough. I always knew social media was a cesspool, but when you read about the depths of their depravity and recklessness, it really hits hard. I’m taking the initiative to remove myself from most, if not all, of it, so should you

Y’all should read Orpheus Builds A Girl and Carrion Crow by Heather Parry. We might be discussing those books soon and she might be on the show talking with us. Just sayin’…

We’re wanting to get more authors on the show for general (and Pynchon-related) discussions. Any suggestions? Feel free to tag them, too!

I can only watch WC matches on Telemundo and my Spanish is not great. I already came into this not knowing much about the rules or subtleties of the game, but I can say I’m enjoying it immensely. Bonus for the announcers whose enthusiasm and passion for the game are crystal clear, though

I’m enamored with the novels of The Lost Generation—about the futility of wealth accumulation and about the beauty in just living a simple, humble life. The idea that there’s no inherent value in being wealthy; it just makes people awful, selfish, and unable to see the world for what it is
