Lawyer in a previous life, coffee is essential, books are cool. Politics hard left. She/her
thanks to those watching the debate and reporting back here. I just can't do it tonight. (maybe too many years of it) Thanks for your sacrifice.

almost every sentence in this article is a red flag about this candidate. Paula Penfold always doing the good work.
“Asked whether NZ First had any concerns about Ikilei’s comments about Tate, a spokesperson said the party was “not some sort of Gestapo word-police”, and defended the right of New Zealanders to freedom of opinion and speech.”

one of my brothers (National voter and age 75) claims her has predicted the outcome of every election since 1972. He is currently picking a left win so interesting. I personally think it is hard to call but given where he sits on the political spectrum its interesting. Keep the faith lefties.💚♥️🖤

I only got 5 right. I mean what a disgrace these meals are! Seymour should be run out of politics for inflicting this on our kids.

Have secured a copy of Nicky Hagers Dirty Work from Timeout. Glad I asked them to hold one for me. Also pleased to support an independent bookseller also. I am not naive enough to think this book will necessarily change the election result but it is still important work and important reading.

still excited about the CRL and yes I know a lot more needs to be done. I want all the public transport for everyone. More more more. And thats why I vote Green. And for PT friendly council candidates.

why in the hell does Dolly Parton have to die while so many shitbags in the world live on. This has just destroyed me this morning. A good person as well as a music legend. 💔😢

Do struggle with the idea that its up to Green voters to shut up and not be negative about Labour cos that will lose the election for Labour. It can be hard to push policy in a party like Labour (been there done that) but thats not my job. Negative comments on Bluesky will not decide this election.
August 24, 2026 at 10:23 PM
finding it very hard to keep hope about the election but I know that keeping hope alive is essential. Polls, stupid policy announcements, rabid racisim. The right love to drive the hope out of us on the left. They want us to give up. Fight we must in whatever way we are able. 💚

wtf why is the bloody All Black game leading the news and so far taken up the first five minutes.
August 23, 2026 at 6:06 AM
so in nothing new to see here Labour offers friggen National lite. I vote Green but hell I hoped for more than this. 😑
August 23, 2026 at 2:48 AM
TVNZ runs the story on the private members bill on Streaming levy (withdrawn )and the non existent new tax from Labour as their top story. What a suck up to the Nats. The story about cutting beneficiaries out of their energy payment (wrongfully) the third story and bugger all time on it. Grrr.

Watched the Tova panel with Kieran and Chris (the one who says he's not after the PMs job lol). Kieran's face an impressive watch and he nailed his comments. BIshop trying the sell the lone wolf concept was the most entertaining thing I've watched in a while. I mean lol quasi challenge says Bishop.

having just seen what my power bill will be this month I am very much of the opinion that this govt has no idea even what the basics are let alone how to fix them....
August 12, 2026 at 1:29 AM
I hate Luxon with every bone in my body but I cannot see how him being gone with help the left vote improve. I would be more excited to see the other Chris replaced. Though the thought of Luxon being tossed out by is own party is appealing....It just kinda feels like a sidebar.🤷‍♀️

a weak sponge that couldn't negotiate properly or run an MMP government wants to run back to FPP...pathetic. And this on the day Shane Jones says he wants to restrict who can stand for parliament. I cant see his potential coalition parties going for this one. Pathetic man.

Urgent!! 👇👇👇

Can someone PLEASE help Brenda's elderly aunt with a broken jaw get from Palmerston North to Hutt Hospital.

It is utterly ridiculous and dangerous to suggest she take a bus(!!!!).

She needs more than just a lift, please repost and contact Brenda if you can help.
Anyone know an agency in Palmerston North who can help?

I don't mean simple transport, she's gonna need some real hand holding to get to this place, while the hospital is probably just gonna reschedule and tell her to sort herself.
Extremely worried about my elderly aunt, who has a broken jaw from a fall, and Palmerston North Hospital has told her to catch a bus Palmy to Hutt Valley on her own today to get surgery, and bus back after - my aunt is forgetful, has no cellphone (we've tried) on one of the coldest days of the year

Good to enrol and especially good to enrol before 4 October (so you can cast an ordinary vote instead of a special vote), but the claim about Māori roll enrolment is not true.
The restriction will be on already enrolled voters changing which type of roll they're enrolled on.
bsky.app/profile/grae...
Just to be clear: if you are on the Māori roll and you move in September, you'll be able to update your enrolment so you can vote in the Māori seat you have moved to.
And if you are Māori and aren't enrolled at all, you'll be able to enrol on the Māori roll (or general roll) up to 25 October.

Plenty said here about dishrag Luxos comments. And now Seymour defends. I was brought up in Rotorua and my eldest moved there with his fam pre pandemic. I visit often. I see nothing but businesses doing their best to innovate, to bring in new ideas. Luxon is just a lazy middle manager. Just F off.

Flight to Adelaide last year. People in front of us were having a mare with their young toddler. Landed. I said to parents you must be so tired after that. Dad apologises and Im like na no need for that. Not their fault or the kids. A hag was nasty to them on a previous flight. Just be nice peeps.
I cannot overstate how much I hate when people are dicks about babies crying in public (especially airplanes).

Do you think the parent is having a good time right now?? Do you think they are not aware of the situation??? Are you going to negotiate with a literal infant????
