I have updated the mediagraphy for critical tech and "AI" sources. I'm not finished, but I'm on vacation with my family so I will pick up the slack next week. Stay tuned, much more is coming!
If you have suggestions, don't hesitate to send me a missive.
Mediagraphy of AI and Big Tech critical sources
One of the biggest obstacles I face in my fight against the scourges that are generative AI, Big Tech and other fascist-leaning clankers, is that most people aren’t aware of all the critical literatur...

This is why I hate "just a tool" so so so much.

You can make a calculator without access to every calculation. You can make photoshop without access to all photos.

Someone show me a genai tool that didn't require all of our labour in its production. It's plagiarism software.

rien de nouveau pourtant, c'est le problème que que vous feignez d'ignorer:

C’est rare que je partage ce genre de choses, mais ça m’a fait rire ce matin. Faut jamais arrêter de le ridiculiser.
This administration would be so funny if it wasn’t so historically embarrassing and destructive.

America deserves serious leaders.

I do think normalcy bias a big part of why Serious People have refused to engage with the topic for so long. Lots of hoping that "if we ignore it, maybe it'll go away." And here we are, living under the stupidest possible of technofascism.

I was getting increasingly frustrated with the Discourse this week, and then Ed asked me to come on and vent about it. Felt good and hopefully did some good too.

(The next day, Cal and I talked about it even more for @dreamingagainstthemachine.com. That episode will be up next week!)

Just absolutely wild to see so many people discovering the massive influence of the rationalists in real time and say things like "I wish I could unlearn what I've learned in the last 24 hours."

I, and others, have been researching these people for YEARS.

There is so much I wish I could unlearn.

It’s not the « AI » protecting itself. It’s the mayor, the police and the government committing violence against our right to demonstrate peacefully.

Effective altruism / rationalism is a cult of broken priorities that denies the threat of fossil fuels. This is why Anthropic loves burning gas for power.
