It can be hard to stand up for one's morals, & even harder to do right by yourself when it inconveniences others. This isn't an excuse for throwing your morals away, but it's certainly a tough balancing act.
I'm trying to be wiser this year about that balance. Sometimes I need to think about me.

I think this is because public perception of "Science" has been hyperfocused into "Tech." "Tech" is everywhere, so it seems less personal, less private.
Also in real life, so many folks in Tech seem to hate other sciences & cast doubt on their viability. As if we got Tech w/o the others!

When I was a kid in the 90's it was so common It seemed like a legit career path, now you hardly see it anymore and I feel like theres a darker reason for that shift. All the "Virtually Staged" photos that realtors upload seem like they should be illegal. It's often done poorly with AI that skews perspective and dimensions that make rooms look bigger. They also hide scuffed floors, ratty carpet, and water damage. Just show me the house you're selling, please.

The level of Bug Control we've had to do has increased exponentially as we've gotten to the end of our lease. And the level of communication from our property management company has DECREASED.

Just goinna point out that entertainment news orgs need to stop reporting opening weekend numbers like that's the be-all end-all to a movie's financial success. Opening weekend numbers are cool, but movies are in theaters for WEEKS & can earn FAR MORE than Opening Weekend based on many factors.
