Spokesperson Climate Action & Nature - he/him

Promoted by Mark Ruskell, Scottish Green Party, 19b Graham Street, Edinburgh, EH6 5QN
Fabulous to connect with groups in Parliament tonight who are running #repaircafe initiatives in St Andrews, Dunkeld and Stirling. Scottish Government must put re-use and repair first! 🌍♻️

This year we secured a £2 bus fare cap in the Highlands and Islands. That's now been extended to Strathclyde region.

But the Government says it could take up to 5 years to get to the rest of Scotland.

England will reduce their cap to £2 in January. Scotland shouldn't have to wait.

It's frustrating that a critical connection from Scotland to Europe has been allowed to wither on the vine after action from both the Westminster and Scottish Governments came too late.

If this is a priority for the Scottish Government then they need to show leadership.

Gypsy Travellers have been persecuted for centuries. But despite a Scottish Government apology last June for the Tinker Experiment – which tried to assimilate them into settled culture – some claim their cultural rights are still being denied.

If a company has profited from apartheid and genocide, they shouldn't be able to profit here in Scotland.

The Government definitely shouldn't be helping them do so.

The SSPCA are an irreplaceable ‘blue light’ service for all animals, it’s more important than ever that a funding solution is found 🐾 www.dailyrecord.co.uk/news/sspca-p...
SSPCA plunges into £5.5m crisis with soaring costs and plunging donations
The SSPCA insists the 2025 deficit came after it deliberately invested more in tackling neglect and cruelty as the number of animals needing help rises.

Important visit to Bobbin Mill Woods in Pitlochry yesterday to see Roseanna McPhee. This site is hugely significant to the history and culture of gypsy travellers and should be recognised as such rather than being handed around as a development site for a brewery and holiday cabins.

Really informative to catch up with Tor Medical Practice in Plean today about the challenges of meeting the needs of a rapidly growing population with the limited facilities they have. Will be raising with NHS Forth Valley

Treelink Stirling have been doing some incredible work to grow networks of urban trees around communities. In an age of climate change, tree cover is hugely important to keep our places cool and green. Looking forward to @stirlingcouncil Tree and Woodland Strategy embedding this approach further.

Nigel Farage is a grifter. He always has been and he's continuing to grift.

He knew he was heading towards a byelection anyway so has pulled the trigger early.

The people Vs the establishment?! Reform are literally part of the establishment.

Toxic Labour wants to build new nuclear power stations in Stirling and Fife 🥀☢️
Utterly absurd, if the Romans had nuclear power we’d still be guarding the waste.

It could have huge impacts on the local environment, energy and water consumption. 🥀

But we won’t let big tech exploit our communities.

Our carbon footprint is going up - when it needs to be coming down, fast.🔥

And a climate plan that relies heavily on unproven technologies is not going to help us change course.

We need real climate action - to create warmer homes and cheaper public transport - now.👇

There absolutely should be sackings at the Electoral Commission over this. A fake party that does no campaigning, will have spent £0, and whose own holocaust denying leader acknowledged is only there to confuse voters, came 7th, only explainable if it did indeed confuse voters.
