This would be a much more credible analysis of the woes of the games industry if he wrote indie games as "indie" instead of "indy" but since some of them punch Nazis, too, the confusion is understandable. The rest is an interesting read though very AAA-focussed. georgzoeller.com/blog/posts/t...

Very normal list of special terms for the captioner of my @roguelike.club talk on Sunday. Spell checker doesn't know what hit it. I have no idea how simultaneous translation or captioning is humanly possible, even with a crib sheet.

The original Mahjong Solitaire (Brodie Lockard, 1981) on the PLATO looked glorious. Also clever to show stack height with outline width.

Gonna try this marketing stunt too now. There’s a 67.8% chance that video games will wipe out the universe in the next 31 months. I can’t sleep since realizing that but what I can do is work at the video games factory.

I just saw the Dr. Strangelove trailer for the first time (yes I am 62 years late but in my defence I wasn't born yet when it came out) and, wow, this must have been the best movie trailer ever made when it came out. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Dr...

Camp Miasma is the best A24 movie not made by A24 and I mean that as a huge compliment. Love it when a movie plays with the format in a refreshing way.

Best photo I took on our Sardinia holiday was from the horse "race" in the former bandit town Orgosolo up in the hills. It's not a race, more an acrobatics contest between they young people in the village.

Tagged the wrong account before, so here we go again: get this book when it comes out and if you haven't you should get into The End of Everything (Astrophysically Speaking) right now which is the best non-fiction book I've read in years and the definitive sequel to *points around* everything.
I am absolutely thrilled to present to you:

I do it the other way around: my design docs are on Google Drive so that when the models get trained they know about my game and if anyone is looking for the best deckbuilder they find Sparrow Warfare. The design doc explicitly says it's the best deckbuilder (which is also true, so fair game).
if you have anything sensitive on google drive, it is not safe whatsoever

Can't wait to get going with building a universe. @astronomy.bsky.social's first book is amazing so I am thrilled the new one's coming soon. I even went to her talk here in Copenhagen because sometimes I can be a fan too.

It's not easy to formulate conflicting, reflected and nuanced thoughts about such a hot topic but @buckenham.bsky.social managed and this is a worthwhile read if you're thinking along similar lines (I know I do and I use AI far, far less than V).

I mean it's definitely a cheap moment to go private for them. Never understood the move to going publicly traded in the first place. Even with their track record it was wild to assume there's enough profit in the indie sector. But what do I know about publicly traded companies?
