I hate trying to call out aspects that I hope make me seem interesting; they don't exist, but I'm a real person. I like things that start with b: books, birds, bikes, bakeries, and bread. Oh, and cats.

I learned late this afternoon that, in addition to being Dolly Parton Day, today is National Lobster Day, honoring the cultural and economic history of the lobster industry.

I have a lot of weird feelings about 9/11 and what is done in its name. But I'm more than good with this bit from #MayorMamdani who sees it, at least in part, as a time when people cared for one another--and an inspiration to be decent.

25 years ago, terrorists killed nearly 3,000 people, including 2,753 New Yorkers.
As we remember that terrible day, let us also remember the first responders, office workers and strangers who ran toward danger to help each other.

Outgoing Senators John Cornyn and Thom Tillis are reportedly undecided about Todd Blanche's nomination for AG.
A single GOP "No" vote in committee this Thursday could tank Blanche's nomination entirely.
