Mash X to Muse is 10 years old! 🥳🤯 Which means it's been around for more than a quarter of my life. To celebrate, I gave it a complete makeover and dug up some of my favorite articles.

Drop by and maybe subscribe to my newsletter while you're at it 💜

10 Years Mash X to Muse!?
Much to my own surprise, Mash X to Muse has been around for an entire decade and more than a quarter of my life—not a lot on a cosmological scale, but a significant amount for a humble blog, and to me...

You really shouldn't tell a professional writer you "improved" their copy by feeding it into a chatbot shredder and stapling the pieces back together as a bullet point list.

I think that's a bit rude.

I'm always puzzled by the argument "we have limited resources so we have to use AI".

Doesn't the appeal of indie games lie exactly in personal creative choices and an intimate, handmade feel? Why does everything need to be polished?

Jesus, who the fuck thought marketing a game with SS runes and a quasi-black-sun was a good idea?!

I took a deep dive into medieval manuscript art and wrote 2000 words on why Scriptorium: Master of Manuscripts by is a special kind of game that really gets medieval art.

Scriptorium not only makes an obsolete, long dead art accessible to a modern audience, but miraculously brings it back to life for a brief moment

so Horses was a problem, but Valve I guess is fine with this racist crap that flagrantly violates at least two of its content guidelines and has 300+ reviews that all almost certainly violate those guidelines too

Reading the Decameron and can't stop thinking about how that guy wrote a hundred short stories brimming with life in the middle of maybe the single worst catastrophe in human history.

700 years later, a voicemail from an unknown caller is enough to derail my creative flow for an entire afternoon.

Scriptorium is amazing. Not entirely sure what exactly this is, but it took like 400 sketches and most of my evening to finish it and I'm quite proud. @yazagames.com

Got to admit, I'm very proud of how my bestiary-style "elephant" turned out. (you really should play Scriptorium: Master of Manuscripts, it's amazing) @yazagames.com
