Ask yourself if it feels better for Cameron Winter or Post Malone to do guest spots in Nirvana and Black Sabbath when it's on the biggest stages rock music gets. For the death of Ozzy, that the best thing the industry could think of was a former rapper is a travesty.

Marketing works sometimes.
I guess living in a world where Post Malone, the human embodiment of "I know it smell awful in there," is one of the biggest artists of the past 15 years, I'm not that bothered by a challenging, inventive indie band hiring savvy marketing guys to figure out how to take advantage of the algorithm?

Massachusetts once again showing it's supremacy because a few unpaid town board members got FIFA to break over the same exact issue. NJ Transit and its legal resources can't do the same?
Why shouldn't FIFA pay for this?

Sinners engages with and creates a conversation with America's greatest sin, its greatest art form (blues), capitalism and personal striving while also being an amazing vampire movie. Have not stopped thinking about this movie.
And for our last free article of the day, in light of Sinners earning a record number of Oscar nominations, here's our review from @charlespulliam.bsky.social.
Sinners is a breathtakingly terrifying ode to Black mythology
Sinners solidfies Ryan Coogler as one of out generations great movie storytellers.

I'm glad someone finally wrote this. Has been driving me nuts it was taken for granted this EO is worth anything more than the folder it's in.

The 'before you go' widget on Google Maps is so laughably bad and disruptive that I may go back to MapQuest.
Fun chart from @jesskarl.bsky.social. Are people giving up or is Google AI getting better?

This is really good.

"Democrats" are decentralized and don't act as one. That, and it's what they actually say/do is less determative than pundits act like. Which, provides white space for pundits to baselessly puppet their favored annoyances b/c they'll never be held accountable.
My latest newsletter is about how centrist pundits got the lessons of the 2024 election wrong, and how the politics of 2025 exposed them.
The Pundits Were All Wrong
The Republican collapse has exposed elite pundits as clueless

Well past time for her to fade into the background. Never actually engages when what is shown on TikTok or 'social media' is the truth. Just believes it's plainly brainwash.

To insist to young Jews that they don't know their history is plainly anti-semitic. Much less has correctly been said so.
Hillary Clinton blames TikTok and “totally made up” videos for young people’s views on Israel and Palestine.

She says social media influenced “not just the usual suspects” but also “young Jewish Americans who don’t know the history and don’t understand.”

I'm in Park Slope too and every day I see a car run a red light almost every block.

Good on @timdonnelly.com & @nygroove.nyc for covering this and the way it's framed. If we can't expect the bare minimum of our fellow citizens, what can we. What does it say these drivers have no respect for others.

It truly is shocking that AOC or someone hasn't done this test on camera yet
Trump: AOC is low IQ. If you give her an IQ test, have her pass like the exams that I decided to take when I was at Walter Reed. Those are very hard…

The first couple of questions are easy. A tiger, an elephant, a giraffe..

It's really a testament to how bad the Yankees have been that not being swept in the ALDS is his biggest moment in ten years. The announcers - while the ball was mid-air - already started mythologizing a homerun that'll be forgotten when they lose.

Just let the game happen!
From @theathletic.com: Aaron Judge delivered an all-time great swing to spur a Yankees comeback that kept their season alive. Judge's teammates were in awe of the slugger's performance in the biggest moment — to date — of his career.

Our office released a new study highlighting rampant illegal parking across Downtown Brooklyn. Vehicles block sidewalks, crosswalks, bike lanes & loading zones - making it more dangerous for New Yorkers to get around the neighborhood.

CBS speaks to the 'middle 70%' now. What it doesn't 'speak to' are bad actors who yell the loudest and who no amount of pandering to will make them turn on their TVs every night to watch.
Ellison tells WSJ: "We want CBS to speak to that 70% of the audience that would really define themselves at center-left to center-right."
Weiss adds: "[D]esire for “news that reflects reality” and journalism that “doesn’t seek to demonize, but seeks to understand.'"

The Post is losing one of its clearest and smartest voices.
And, uh, some personal news: This is also my last column for The Post. I was offered and accepted a buyout.
To answer one possible next question, I'm not sure what's next save taking some time off. If you want, you can enter your email at pbump.net and I'll let you know when I figure it out!
For my column today, I wrote about how Trump leveraged America's collapsing trust in institutions — and how his second term has accelerated that collapse. Gift link: wapo.st/3IzN4QA
