Ran across this frame-grab from a video I shot in Auckland 24 years ago this month. The image on the right is how the Moon looked just above the horizon there, and the left image is rotated to how it appeared back home in California. It was something I hadn't even considered before going there.

White Sands. I was here last as a 14 month old tot newly arrived from Europe. Chip tried to blend in but his spots gave him away. Mr. T. and I were even more obvious.

Canyon de Chelly. Paid for a four-hour guided tour. You’re not allowed in most of the canyon without a guide.

Road tripping from Utah into Arizona. The 100+F temp on top of being wiped out from the previous days’ hikes nearly did me in on the relatively easy alien world of the Toadstool Hoodoos. The shortehike at Glen Canyon Dam was not difficult but I was stick-a-fork-in-me I’m DONE for today.
